We are a non-profit group created in 2007 by the Mtro. Guillermo Freijido with the aim of providing a new and different space focused on teaching and dissemination of culture through music, choral singing and other artistic’s disciplines that are carried out honorably by more than 100 children, youth and adults in Uruguay.
Although Fermata began as a small “a cappella” adult choir, its innovation and artistic activity in these years has transcended the strictly choral and has allowed a growth that currently under the name of “Fermata Music” brings together in its formation the Fermata Choir the Fermata Children’s Choir, Fermaltos (boys and young males’ group), Fermata Band, Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, soloists and dancers.
The great artistic and human potential together with the recognition of the public and the press, are some of the reasons why “Fermata Music” has become an unique and pioneering reference in its country until today where some bands, orchestras and especially choral groups have tried to follow its steps taking it as an unavoidable reference, thus reflecting the big musical impact and the admiration that all of its work generates. Work that has always been the result of a huge effort and teamwork led by its musical director.
It should be noted that ALL its discography and available singles have been always recorded LIVE during its different shows and concerts.
The song “MUSIC”, composed by John Miles and produced by Alan Parsons, both British, has always been an anthem for Fermata Music, not only because of its beauty and musical richness but also because its lyrics identify and represent the feelings and spirit of all those who have been part of this unique and beloved project that really came true:
“Music was our first love
And it will be our last
Music of the future
And music of the past
To live without our music
Would be impossible to do
In this world of troubles
The music pull us through”
“Music was our first love
And it will be our last.
Music of the future
And music of the past.
To live without our music
Would be impossible to do.
In this world of TROUBLES,
The music pull us through”.

And the second one was that a group of his friends wanted to sing together but only if he led them.
